Systems
BEE Ann Vertel
The structures and systems you currently have in place support, or almost support, your business at the size it is now and that may mean that your business has outgrown the systems you originally had in place. Your business will continue to do this as you grow, no matter how big you get.
But it can only grow outside its systems so far. After that, it will not grow any further unless you upgrade your systems.
In order for you to grow to the next level, you must put the systems in place now that will support that next level. Why? Because your current systems have gotten you to where you are today but probably aren't capable of getting you to where you want to be.
When you are earning twice what you are now, will you have the same systems in place then as you do now? The same accounting system? The same office help?
Probably not.
The secret to growing rapidly seems almost counter intuitive. Even though you may not be ready or you may not be able to afford them, you must put those systems into place now so that they can support the business you will grow into. Otherwise, you cannot grow. We can only be as big as our systems will allow.
What communication system has your business outgrown?
What type of organizational system worked well last year but seems to be weighing you down now?
Does the office/administrative help you have now support you where you are now or where you want to be?
What action step are you willing to take in the next 24 hours to move toward a more potent system?
